20:34 < dragon788> yeah, I'm not exactly up on the GPL ins and outs, but I know that ShALLaX is more than willing to help out those looking to modify the Cromwell code, and I really don't think his tweaks of it are significant enough to require their own publishing of the source, but again, I'm not up on that stuff

20:38 < carton> GPL states that the holders of the copyright allow you to redistribute their work _iff_ you also redistribute the source.  so mod chippers that ship modified cromwell on their chips but don't distribute the source code for their changes are violating the copyrights held by the original cromwell authors.
