I have Comcast here in Penna. too (but the surrounding Philly area). The
only time I've had my ip address change on me was when I wouldn't start
the dhcp client program. Then I would stop having internet one day..
re-run it.. and new IP... real PITA. I have a Com21 Doxport 111, which
really sucks. Over the summer I'm either having them come out and
replace it with either a motorola or cisco, or I'm gonna by one myself
and just send the mac addy in (we rent the modem right now.. probably
paid for the thing 5 times over....).
